Artist Statement
Life is a journey and color can be used to express all of the feelings and emotions that we experience along the way. Once I discovered the joy of using fabrics and fibers for my color palette, I was off and running. I enjoy working with abstract designs and graphic lines and shapes. How the colors play together and the feelings they evoke is more important to me than replicating the look of the actual object or place. Traditional quilting plays an important role in my life as many of the traditional block designs are very graphic and work well to express emotions through color. One of my sources of inspiration is nature, and I am especially fond of trees and leaves. As my quilting journey continues, I look forward to discovering a wealth of new techniques and design possibilities to implement into my work. Come along and journey with me for a while.
