Quilts must be brought to the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM on June 3. Quilts must be picked up at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center between 5:00 - 6:00 PM on June 6. You must have a receipt to pick up a quilt. If you cannot deliver or pick-up your quilt at these times, ask someone to do this for you.
After you register, there will be a confirmation displayed on the screen; then you will receive an email confirmation. There is no confirmation for paper forms. If you have requested to have your quilt judged, you will be transferred to PayPal to make your payment. Quilt tags for registered quilts will be available at all guild meetings between May 12- June 2. The top half of the tag must be pinned to your quilt; the bottom half is your receipt. If you find errors in your entry or wish to withdraw your quilt prior to the show, please Contact Us.
While you may like to procrastinate, there iis an incentive to register early. If you register before March 3 you will have your name in a drawing for a $50 prize. If you register before April 7 (including those who register before March 3), you will have your name in the drawing for the $25 prize. These prizes will be awarded at the Quilter's Extravaganza on Friday evening. Early registration also helps our committee who have to proofread all of the entries inclding the 150+ that arrive during the week before the deadline.
All quilts must be registered, including those that will appear in Special Exhibits. The one exception is the BHQG Challenge Quilts (more information about these exhibits appears below).
We expect to have over 400 competition quilts in our quilt show. About 25% of the quilts will be in the Judged Area. We encourage you to participate in the Viewers' Choice voting for the other quilts and also to vote for your favorite quilt for the Best of Show. This vote will continue through 6:00 PM on Friday and the ribbons will be placed on the winners before the show opens on Saturday.
Special Exhibits: These quilts highlight some of the activities of the Black Hills Quilters Guild. They are not judged or voted upon but are included for your viewing pleasure.
